The Artist Collective brings together visual artists of all styles and varying levels of creativity. Artists who love painting, drawing, or mixed media are welcome to join this creative space to learn, share knowledge and inspiration, and support one another on the path to artistic fulfillment.

This membership is both a creative community and a personal exploration of creating art in a style that reflects your vision of the world. You will learn to trust your instincts and move toward the art you want to make.

My years of teaching and creating have made me aware of the obstacles we all face as artists. By taking action to break these barriers down, you will gain momentum in your creative practice and follow your path toward artistic growth, leading you to eventually build a visual language representing your point of view as an artist.

It is for this reason that I am forming The Artist Collective. I hope to serve as your teacher, mentor, and fellow artist by laying a foundation to give you the tools to overcome self-imposed limitations, gain confidence in your creative process, and expand your relationship with your artwork.

Every month, new "Members-Only" content is delivered in weekly segments to enhance and inspire your practice without overwhelming or distracting you from your artwork. In addition to monthly content, there is a private (non-social media) Artist Community for members to connect, ask questions, and support one another.

By surrounding yourself with a like-minded community of committed creatives, you will experience a transformation in how you approach your artwork. You will gain a newfound sense of confidence, purpose, and artistic direction that will take you toward creating the art you've always wanted to make.

Renee’s Artist Collective is just what I have needed. I have been so immersed in taking classes that go from one project to the next that I was beginning to lose my joy in painting as I was concentrating on getting it done to get to the next project so I wouldn’t “fall behind”. Renee encouraged us in one of the first videos or Lives to slow down and concentrate on the process of making art vs the finished project. It was the exact “permission” that I needed. My whole mindset has changed because of Renee’s beautiful way of teaching, encouraging, and taking us deeper into the art of making art! I am forever grateful!! Another “wow” of this collective is the monthly magazine she makes for us is spectacularly beautiful!

There is a wealth of information that I am enjoying at my own pace in the Artist’s Collective. There is no pressure, just fun exploring ways to be more creative. I feel more open to looking at the world in a creative way, such as how things like patterns, shapes, and textures can be used to enhance my art. Support, feedback, and encouragement are vital to one’s artistic journey and are all provided there. So grateful to be a member!

About Me Renee Mueller

Thank you for choosing to take my class, I'm so thrilled and honored that you're here. I want to tell you a little about me. I hold a BFA from the University of Michigan where I studied Art History, Dance, and Choreography. I danced professionally and had the honor of teaching dance at the University of Michigan's Musical Theater and Theater Departments. Most of my life has been spent in the dance studio and the theater. Because of this, I have had the privilege to work with many talented dancers, costume designers, set designers, lighting designers, and musicians. One of the many things that I learned from this experience in the performing arts was to honor your ideas and devote yourself to a subject. Also, to share, support, and collaborate. Once I decided to "exit stage left", it was challenging to find another creative outlet. Like many of us, I loved to draw, paint and create as a child, but never really invested a tremendous amount of time in cultivating that practice. About 10 years ago I began drawing again and decided to commit to a daily practice. I was challenged and inspired!. So, I continue to practice, experiment with materials, and allow my ideas to guide me through the process. When creating art, I draw upon the many methods I learned as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. Research, gathering inspiration, honoring my point of view, and sharing ideas. It is my hope that by sharing my creative practices, my process, techniques and what inspires me, you will find something that works for you.
